Carolyn Friedman, founder of OrthoAssistCarolyn Friedman has worked in orthodontics for over 30 years, working in all areas of the practice. She is now the office manager and treatment coordinator.

In 1994, Mrs. Friedman developed a two-day hands-on training program for orthodontic assistants. In 1999, based on the material in her two-day course, Mrs. Friedman developed a basic training course for orthodontic assistants in an interactive CD-ROM format, distributed through GAC, International.

Carolyn is a continuing education provider for the Florida Board of Dentistry. She provides educational programs for dentists and hygienist on orthodontic appliances and their care and how to determine orthodontic problems at an early age so that treatment can begin when the opportunity is right.

She is an international speaker on orthodontic assistant training and practice promotion. She has spoken at various regional and national orthodontic meetings and at other orthodontic programs, in areas such as Montreal and Toronto, Canada; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Breckenridge, Colorado; and Hershey, Pennsylvania.

With all of her endeavors, she continues to work for an orthodontist, which helps her keep current with what is happening in orthodontics.
